Case Study #4: Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton
The Alberta Gallery of Art is a project designed by the architect Randall Stout and opened to the public January 31, 2010. His office’s extensive use of 3D Rhinoceros models throughout the process demonstrated the next level of integration in the Virtual Build Process. In many aspects of the project the Rhino models were used from designer, to engineer, to fabricator and then to contractor without use of 2D drawings. For example, quality assurance as-built laser scans were used to back check with the 3D Rhino models to maintain a high level of accuracy.
